MUSIC Matters (Michigan Undergrads Serving In the Community) is a University of Michigan student-run non-profit organization that works to motivate positive influence in our community through music.  I started as a member of the Talent & Concert Committee. Then, I took on the role of Head of Local Talent, and now, I'm currently the Talent &  Concert Committee Executive Chair.

SpringFest 2022

After having to cancel in 2020 and going virtual in 2021, we finally got to put on our annual lifestyle & music festival, SpringFest, back in person. We featured several live music and dance performances, student organization activations, giveaways, food trucks, and even a wing eating competition. I led my team in the artist booking, audio/staging production logistics, and overall event operations.

Local Events

So far this year, I have led my team in putting on multiple local music events. We aim to uplift the Ann Arbor and University of Michigan music scene by supporting local venues and artists.  Here's what we've done so far...

Battle of the Bands

Produced our Battle of the Bands that gave 5 Ann Arbor bands the opportunity to take the stage at the iconic Blind Pig, compete for $1000 worth of cash prizes, and perform for a sold out crowd

More Shows @ the Blind Pig

We have partnered with several local bands, including student and alumni musicians, in co-promoting their shows at the Blind Pig

Head of Local Talent

Virtual Concerts

My partner and I spearheaded the production of several virtual local talent concerts via Zoom, Instagram, and Facebook Live, including our benefit concert featuring eight local musicians, which raised over $7000 for the Detroit Justice Center, and our installment of The Ark Ann Arbor’s Family Room Series, which reached an audience of over 700 people. We also booked the local musicians to perform at our virtual SpringFest lifestyle festival & assisted in the booking, production, and promotion of the headlining livestream concert featuring Hippo Campus
